Background
I graduated from the University of Dundee in 2013, practicing in Inverness for several years before relocating to Sheffield in 2017 to be with my partner. I am, by my own admission, a true dental geek—driven by a high degree of attention to detail and an unrelenting pursuit of clinical excellence.
Over the past decade, this dedication has seen me commit thousands of hours to postgraduate learning, eventually allowing me to work alongside the very mentors who shaped my early career.
At my core is a deeply idealistic approach to patient care; I believe that every patient deserves to be offered the ideal clinical solution, regardless of their circumstances. My goal is to ensure that my patients are fully informed of the highest standards of modern dentistry, allowing us to work together toward the most durable, evidence-based outcomes.
Clinical Dentistry
I work part time across two locations: Ferndale House Dental Practice in Chesterfield, and Charles Clifford Dental Hospital in Sheffield. Ferndale House Dental Practice is an amazingly well equipped private dental clinic with an excellent team, where I work seeing general patents as well as referral cases for the management of tooth wear and TMD.
At Charles Clifford, I work as a Specialty Dentist in Endodontics on the restorative department, treating NHS referrals for complex root canal treatment.
I am a firm advocate for the role of digital technology in modern dentistry; not just for precision in treatment, but as a vital tool for patient communication. Whether through operating microscopes or digital workflows, my goal is to provide a level of care that is predictable and transparent.
Teaching + Mentoring
The other half of my professional persona is deeply committed to dental education and mentorship. For several years, I have served as a Clinical Tutor in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Sheffield, while also working with RIPE Global on their International Restorative Diploma—delivering hands-on courses and mentoring to a global audience.
My passion for sharing knowledge extends from local leadership of study groups to specialized workshops; I am routinely invited to teach dental photography for NHS Foundation Trainees, a skill I believe is foundational to modern clinical excellence. In 2025, my commitment to clinical communication and occlusion led to an invitation to New Hampshire, USA, where I co-hosted a three-day intensive workshop on communication and treatment planning.
Most recently, this dedication to maintaining and assessing the highest standards of the profession led to my appointment as an LDS Examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons.
Personal Life
Outside of the clinic, I am a keen woodworker; I have always found great satisfaction in the practical challenge of working with my hands to create functional, custom furniture.
My love for the outdoors was what brought me to Inverness, where I spent much of my time running and climbing. While a busy professional life and a very active toddler have replaced the mountains with family adventures recently, I still find that the discipline and patience required for fine woodworking mirror the 'geeky' attention to detail I bring to my clinical work.
Sheffield is now firmly home, providing the perfect balance of a vibrant city and the nearby peaks for my family to grow up in.
